Support That Doesn’t Stop at the Screen

We know real care doesn’t end the moment a consult wraps up. At Her Virtual, our team is committed to ensuring every woman feels informed, supported, and heard — not just during the appointment, but afterwards too. If you have questions about your plan, need clarification, or something changes — we’re here. Our doctors provide detailed follow-up notes and recommendations, and where appropriate, we’ll communicate with your usual GP to keep your broader care connected.

GETTING STARTED
COSTS + MEDICARE
A note on Medicare A telehealth consultation is rebateable when you have an existing relationship with us generally a face-to-face appointment with a Her Medical doctor in the last 12 months, or My Medicare registration with us. Consultations specifically about contraception, sexual and reproductive health, or related screening may be rebateable even if you are a new patient. If neither applies, you’re still welcome to book it will simply be a private consultation, and we’ll confirm the fee before you’re seen.

Do you bulk bill? Her Virtual is a privately billed service, so we don’t bulk bill. A Medicare rebate may apply depending on your appointment and whether you meet Medicare’s telehealth eligibility (see the note above). We’ll always confirm the fee and any rebate before you’re charged.: Information for patients
Can I claim a Medicare rebate? It depends on two things: that you have a valid Medicare card, and that your consultation meets Medicare’s telehealth rules. Medicare generally only rebates telehealth when you’ve had a face-to-face appointment with a Her Medical doctor in the last 12 months, or you’re registered with us through MyMedicare. There’s an important exception — consultations specifically about contraception, sexual and reproductive health, or related screening may be rebatable even if you’re a new patient. If you don’t meet either, you’re still welcome to book; your consultation will simply be private, and we’ll confirm the fee beforehand.: Information for patients
What will I pay?No — Her Virtual is designed to complement, not replace, your usual GP. We offer specialised care in women’s health, with longer appointments and time to explore things that often get missed or rushed. We encourage you to keep seeing your GP for general, ongoing, and in-person care.: Information for patients
How do I pay?A credit card authorisation is held and billing allocated by your doctor based on your medicare item number for your particular consultation.: Information for patients
How does payment work?Payment is held securely at the time of booking through our online platform. Your card is only charged after the consultation, once your doctor has confirmed the appropriate MBS item number (if applicable) and finalised your appointment.: Information for patients
